Hummus is one of the best-known mezes in Lebanon.

Mezzes

Hummus is not a starter that is cooked only in Lebanon! There is also Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Turkey, Jordan and also Greece.

It is a preparation that is made from mashed chickpeas, lemon juice and tahina. It is eaten as a cold starter accompanied by pita bread.

Enough talk, let's not waste any more time to reveal our recipe! For about 3 people, you will need:

  • 1 half mug of Tahina (sesame paste)
  • 1 mug of cooked chickpeas
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Salt

For the decoration possibly olive oil, parsley, cumin, red chilli powder and 3/4 chickpeas. For the accompaniment of pita bread.

To start, you will crush the two cloves of garlic well, and squeeze the two lemons. Put them in a blender with the mug of chickpeas, then add the half mug of tahina and the salt (dose according to your tastes).
Once well mixed, serve the preparation in a meze plate, form a circle with a "hollow" as you can see in the image, add the olive oil in the hollow, add some chickpeas on top , and on the sides put cumin and red pepper powder.

Enjoy with your pita bread !
